Dorothy “Melba” McCallum

Newark/Perinton – Dorothy “Melba” McCallum, 92, died Monday (June 7, 2010) at Crest Manor in Perinton.

            Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday (June 10th) at the First United Methodist Church 301 S. Main St in Newark with Rev. Roger Smith officiating.  Burial services will be in East Newark Cemetery. 

          Memorials in Melba’s name may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 301 South Main St. Newark, NY  14513.

          Mrs. McCallum was born June 21, 1917, in East Palmyra, the daughter of Earl and Nellie Millar Robinson.  She was a member of the Newark High School graduating class of 1935.  Melba was a platform assistant for Chase Lincoln Bank, retiring in 1982.  She was a member of the Newark Country Club and the First United Methodist Church in Newark. 

          She is survived by her son Stephen (Cindy) of East Rochester, a brother Irving (Barbara) Robinson of Greece and  five nieces and nephews.  Melba was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1982; a brother Charles Robinson and a sister Esther Brooks.
