Newark—Gloria E. Santell, 71, died Tuesday (January 27, 2015) at her home.

Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday (January 30^th ) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday (January 31^st) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, New York.

Memorials, in her name, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1120 South Goodman Street, Rochester, New York 14620.

Mrs. Santell was born June 24, 1943 in Puerto Rico, the daughter of Claudio Rivera and Quintina Garcia. She moved to Newark in the late 1960's and was a communicant of St. Michael Church. Gloria retired from Newark-Wayne Community Hospital where she had worked in the housekeeping department for several years.

She is survived by her husband Roberto, two sons Roberto “Bobby” (Ann) of Brandon, VT. And Ricardo “Rick” of Newark; grandchildren Alaina, Shannon, Olivia, Megan, Mariah and Izabella two great grandchildren Cora and Keely; a brother Luis “Vicin” Rivera of Newark; two sisters Zulma and Bacilisa Rivera of Puerto Rico. Gloria was predeceased by her parents, siblings Eva, Junita, Marcial and Cesar Rivera-Garcia.
