Newark—Harold G. Montana, 90, died Tuesday (March 7, 2017) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

A funeral service for Harold and his wife Carolyn will be at 2 PM on Friday (March 17th) at the First United Methonist Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials, in his name, may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, New York 14489.

Harold was born April 5, 1926 in the Town of Bulter, the son of Orrie and Josephine Lanning. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark. Harold served in the US Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He had worked at Scofield Garage in Newark for ten years, a couple of years at Sibley's Garage in Lyons. Then for 32 years, Harold was a machinist at G.W. Lisk inc. in Clifton Springs, retiring in 1991.

He was survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn; a son Bruce of Newark, two grandchildren Ellen Schott of Manhattan and Eric (Meghan) Schott of Rochester; a son-in-law Jeff Schott of Canandaigua; several neices and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his daughter Yvonne Schott in 2003; his sister Mildred Walker, his brothers Willis, Evertt and Kenneth Montana.
