Josephine Truini

Newark—Josephine Truini, 95, died Friday (May 4, 2018) at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

Friends may call Friday (May 11th) from 4-6 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday (May 12th) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials, in her name, may be made to either St. Michael Church or the House of John,14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs New York 14432.

Mrs. Truini was born in Italy on March 19, 1923, the daughter of Vincenzo and Dominica Lisi Sementilli. She came to the United States at age three and lived in Manchester. She was a graduate of Manchester High School. Josephine married Richard C. Truini on May 1, 1943 and moved to Newark. After raising her children, she worked at Sibley's in the Newark Plaza for many years. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church. Josephine was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children Monica (Gene) Della Pietra of Pittsford, Richard J. (Jeanne) Truini of Canandaigua, and Mary Beth (Ray Sanderson) Truini of Canandaigua; five grandchildren Richard and Jennifer Della Pietra, Andrea (Steve) True, Sara Seeloff and Daniel Truini, eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her husband Richard on March 5, 2000; a grandson Mark Della Pietra, sibling Sue Del Gatto, Gina Cutri, and Lou Sementilli.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff on Two West at NWCH and her devoted caregivers this past nine years, for the excellent care and attention they gave Josephine.
