Linda Wiltsie

Newark—Linda Louise Wiltsie, 73, passed peacefully on Saturday (May 27, 2017) at home with her family by her side.

Funeral services for Linda will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday (May 31st) at the Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark.

Linda was born on September 22, 1943 in Newark, the daughter of the late Maynard and Minna Peck Fisher. She was a graduate of Newark High School Class of 1961 and was a life long resident of the village. She had worked for several area law firms as a paralegal and in her retirement she enjoyed helping out in the offices of the Newark Schools. Linda lived a very active life doing things she loved. She was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church where she had been a Deacon, Treasurer and an all around volunteer. Linda extended her volunteering to the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Auxiliary, the Newark Fire Department Auxiliary and spent many hours helping at the Newark Elks though she was not a member. She enjoyed golfing, vacationing, lunches with the Red Hats and socializing with so many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.

Linda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald E.; daughters Dawn (Michael) DiGiovacchino of Ambler, PA and Sharon Wiltsie of Fairport; three grandchildren Nicholas, Gabriella and Kellie; her extended family, friends and neighbors. Besides her parents Linda was predeceased by a brother Robert Fisher, Sr. in 2001.

Her family wishes to thank Dr. Nimish Mohile and his team at Wilmot Cancer Center for their exceptional care and compassion, along with the staff of Lifetime Care in Newark.

Remembrances

Don and family-

So sorry for your loss, but it is clear she loved and was well loved by family and friends.   You are blessed with close family and friends and she will remain in the heart and minds of many.

I am sending you my deepest sympathy.  Linda and I were great friends during our early teenage years.  She was a warm and loving lady.  God bless you all now and in the days to come.

Sharon and Kellie:  so very sorry to hear about your mom/grandmother.  My thoughts and prayers are will you all at this sad time.

Sincerely,

Nick Amatulli

Plainfield, Illinois

Linda was my very capable and treasured secretary for almost ten years at the  Harris Beach law firm in Rochester, immediately prior to my retirement in 1996. At that time we were both products of the old age, dictation, shorthand and typing on a tyypewriter. She took quickly to the computer, but I refused to have one on my desk. She complied with this with an understanding attitude. Her smile was engaging as she proudly spoke of the accomplishments of the Newark HS basketball team. My thoughts and prayers are extended to Don, the girls and the rest of the family.

I HAVE KNOWN LINDA FOR ABOUT 70 YEARS. WE WENT TO JR. HS AND HS IN NEWARK, ATTENDED PARK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, DATED IN JR. HS, AND REMAINED FRIENDS ALL THESE YEARS THOUGH OUR LIFE PATHS TOOK DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. I HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN LINDA TO BE A VERY FRIENDLY AND PRETTY LADY WHO ALWAYS HAD A KIND WORD AND SINCERE INTEREST IN OTHERS. SHE WAS A CHRISTIAN,A DEDICATED WIFE AND MOM, AND A FRIEND TO MANY OF US.IN A WORD, SHE WAS OUR CLASSMATE AND WILL BE SORELY MISSED. HER SMILE WAS CONTAGIOUS AND HER SPIRIT POSITIVE RIGHT UP TO HER END OF LIFE WHICH CAME SUDDENLY. GOD HAS A PLACE FOR LINDA AND SHE WILL BE WELCOMED WITH OPEN ARMS. OTHERS HAVE KNOWN HER BETTER THAN I BUT I SHALL NEVER FORGET HER AND THE GREAT TIMES WE HAD TOGETHER AS FRIENDS. IF THERE IS A HEAVEN AND I BELIEVE THERE IS ONE, LINDA WILL BE THERE LEADING A CHEER FOR THE ANGELS. BEVERLY AND I WILL MISS YOU . BON VOYAGE.
