Steven R. Cowley

Palmyra--- Steven R. Cowley, 52, died Thursday (December 15, 2011) at home surrounded by his family, after a courageous fight with cancer 

     Friends may call from 11 am-2 pm on Monday (December 19th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.   A service in Steven’s honor will be held at 2 pm.  Burials and graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm in the Marion Cemetery for Steven and his father Ellsworth (Al) Cowley who died on October 17, 2011.

     Memorials, in his memory, may be made to the Hematology and Oncology Center, 6 Ambulance Drive, Clifton Springs, New York 14432.

     Mr. Cowley was born on November 30, 1959 in Newark, the son of the Ellsworth and Elaine Marriott Cowley.  He was an electrician and carpenter who was admired by his family and friends for his selflessness in helping people in need of his time and skills. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed spending time at his property and cabin on Cambier Rd.

     Steve is survived by his wife of 30 years Dawn; daughters Kari (Jeff) Quigley and Kristen (Dan) Cowley; son Zack; three grandchildren Hannah, Daniel and Jeffery; his mother Elaine; brothers Mike (Cheryl) and Rob (Sue); sister Chris (Ray) Schmidhammer;  in-laws Linda Dion; Al and Alberta Dion and many more family members and friends.
