Vincent H. Nieskes

Newark –Vincent H. Nieskes, 92, died Sunday (June 27, 2010) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

            Friends may call on Wednesday (June30^th) from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St. in Newark.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M.  on Wednesday(June 30^th) at  St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main St., Newark.  Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

          Mr. Nieskes was born February 2, 1918, in Newark the son of Peter and Sophia Weifeld Nieskes.  A Sergeant in the US Army, he served with the 1^st Calvary in the South Pacific during World War II.  He had worked in the die room at Fold-Pac, retiring in 1980, after 43 years of service to the company.  Vincent was a communicant of St. Michael Church.  He was also a member of the August Mauer Post #285 of the American Legion.

          Vincent is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Madelyn K. and eleven nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother Richard Nieskes
