Vincent H. Nieskes

Newark –Vincent H. Nieskes, 92, died Sunday (June 27, 2010) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

            Friends may call on Wednesday (June30th) from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St. in Newark.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M.  on Wednesday(June 30th) at  St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main St., Newark.  Burial will be in Newark Cemetery. 

          Memorials in Vincent’s name may be made to St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main St., Newark, New York 14513.

          Mr. Nieskes was born February 2, 1918, in Newark the son of Peter and Sophia Weifeld Nieskes.  A Sergeant in the US Army, he served with the 1st Calvary in the South Pacific during World War II.  He had worked in the die room at Fold-Pac, retiring in 1980, after 43 years of service to the company.  Vincent was a communicant of St. Michael Church.  He was also a member of the August Mauer Post #285 of the American Legion.

          Vincent is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Madelyn K. and eleven nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother Richard Nieskes
