Newark—Allyn E. Bedette, 88, died Monday (September 7, 2009) at Clifton Springs Hospital.

          Family and friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Wednesday (September 9th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday (September 10th) at the funeral home.  Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

          Mr. Bedette was born July 5, 1921in Newark, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Bedette.  He was a graduate of Newark High School and served in the Air Force during World War II.  Allyn worked for LeCesse Construction for over 35 years as a carpenter.  He was a member of the Carpenters Union and the Rose Society of the Finger Lakes.   An avid stamp collector, Allyn had belonged to several stamp clubs.

          He survived by his daughter Jill Mendel (Tom Bellittera) of Clifton Springs and a son Jack of Rochester, three grandchildren Shayla (Mark) Taylor, Jason (Wendy) Mendel and Michael Bedette; five great grand children Emily, Ethan, Marisa, Abagail and Lily; a brother Robert Bedette of Maryville, TN, several cherished nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife Jessie in 1996 and a sister Irene Marro.
