Newark---Ashton A. Kepler, 17, passed away on September 14, 2026, from injuries from a motorcycle accident.

Friends may call from 4-8  PM on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St. in Newark. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September t 22, 2026, at Newark Cemetery, 703 N. Main St. in Newark.

Ashton was born in Newark on February 28, 2009, in Newark.  He was looking forward to graduating from Newark Senior High School as a member of the Class of 2027.  He had pledged himself to enlist in the US Marine Corps. after graduation.  He lettered in Football, Wrestling and Lacrosse at NHS. He enjoyed traveling and his time with friends.  He was passionate about his motorcycle.  He was a beloved member of the team at Canalview Restaurant.

He is survived by his mother Carla (Justin Jewett) Kepler; his siblings Kodee (Rachael) Purdy, Braxton (Briante) Purdy, Alexeea (Jaden) Kepler, Peyton Kepler and Riley Jewett; a grandmother Kristine Schetrompf; two aunts Kellie (Jeremy) Sebastiano and Virginia (Shane) Donahue; a niece Kaia Purdy.  He was predeceased by his grandfathers Roger Schetrompf and Alan Klick.
