Newark/Williamson--- Betty Jane Soggs , 86, died Wednesday (February 15, 2012) at Newark Wayne Community Hospital. 

            Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. on Sunday (February 19^th) at the Paul L. Murphy and Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St, Newark, NY.   Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday (February 20^th) at the funeral home with Dan Benedict officiating.  Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

            Mrs. Soggs was born on February 22, 1925 in Sodus, the daughter of Guardy and Onitte O’Dell Wright.  She had been a bartender at the Gandy Dancer in Newark.   Betty was a member of the August Mauer Post #285 American Legion Auxiliary and the Arcadia Memorial Post # 2883 VFW Auxiliary.

            She is survived by her children Beverly (Delbert) Webber of Wolcott, Cheryl (Randy) Gratton of North Bangor, NY, Sandra (Gary) Winch of S. Bristol, Willard (Martha) Soggs of Macedon and Richard (Robin) Soggs of Newark; 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two sisters Bessie Clevenger of Palmyra and Eleanor Blankenburg of Williamson.
