Bonita "Bunny" E. Sovereign

Newark, Bonita "Bunny" E. Sovereign, 78, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.

Bunny was born in Newark, on March 22, 1948, the daughter of the late Edward and Rosalie Parys Dobbelaere. She was a graduate of Newark Senior High School, Class of 1966. She earned her BA of Science from St. John Fisher. She was strong in the Lord and a faithful follower of Christ. Bunny was a Radiologic Technologist and Registered Mammographer for over 40 years. She retired from Rochester Regional Healthcare. She loved the outdoors, especially hiking. You would often see her bicycling throughout Newark.

She is survived by two daughters Laura Sovereign Casey and Trina (Richard) Sovereign-Weiss; three grandchildren Briana Brady, Ronin and Allison Weiss; three great grandchildren Zechariah, Nathaniel and Rosalie Brady; two sisters Patricia Speed and Maureen O’Mara Kilmer, plus nieces and nephews.
