Newark—Chris A. Brockelbank, 66, died on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at her home in Newark
A Celebration of Life will be held in Lyons on Saturday, September 17th 2022.
Chris was born in Newark, NY on December 25, 1955,the daughter of the late Elmer and Mabel Bouwens Matthys. For many years she worked at Newark Florist. Chris loved trips to the casino and weekly bingo games. She loved snacking and watching the Game Show Network.
She is survived by two daughters Amy (Nick) Kastner and Heather Brockelbank; six grandchildren Olivia Lewis, Kien Lewis, Brayden Sherman, Cameron Kastner, Cailee Kastner, Christian Kastner; four brothers Carl (Carol) Bouwens, Jeff Matthys, James Matthys, Larry Matthys; two sisters Peggy VanDamme and Penny Williamson; a sister-in- law Shirley Lancaster; Long-time friend Norman Kunow many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and stepmother Eva VanGelder; a son Greg Brockelbank; a brother David Lancaster Sr.; a nephew David Lancaster Jr.
