Newark—Clarence “Clancy” Mollenkopf, 83,  died on Monday (November 8, 2010) at the Geneva General Hospital.             

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday (November 13, 2010 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark with Rev. Dan Benedict officiating.  Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.          

     Memorials, in his memory, may be made to the Newark Elks Lodge, Attn: Clancy’s Renovation Fund, 223 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513 or the Newark Public Library, 121 High Street, Newark, New York 14513.

     Mr. Mollenkopf was born on January 18, 1927 in Farmington, the son of David and Mary Showers Mollenkopf. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and graduated from the Rochester Business Institute, after returning home.  For many years, Clancy worked at Jackson & Perkins while they were in Newark.  He then was a payroll specialist at Fold-Pac until his retirement in 1990.  Clancy was a Charter Member of the Newark Jay Cees, holding several local and state offices.  He was a life member of the Newark Elk Lodge # 1249 and the Arcadia Memorial Post #2883, VFW.

      He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth;  four daughters Kay (John West) Nozzolio of Canandaigua, Carol (Kim Losey) Orr of California City, Ca, Tina (Kenneth) May of Abingdon, Md, and Gail (John) Fairchild of Victor;  four grandchildren Shanna and David Orr, Alicia Rodriguez, Patrick Fairchild, a great granddaughter JayCee Orr; a brother Elmer (Shelia) Mollenkopf of Newark; three sisters Evelyn Lang of Canandaigua, Mabel Pembroke of Newark, and Esther VanSchaffel of Newark; a sister-in-law Anna Mollenkopf of Phelps; several nieces and nephews.  Clancy was predeceased by a daughter Lisa Marie, brothers George and Charles; sisters Alice Linstrom, Beulah VanLare and Dorothy Mollenkopf
