Newark—Covington, 55, died Tuesday (May 24, 2011) at his home in Newark.

          Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Friday (May 27^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.   Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on Saturday (May 28^th) at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

          Mr. Smith was born on April 17, 1956 in Orlando, Florida, the son of Mack and Fadie Collins Smith.  He was a graduate of Newark High School and Johnson and Wales University in Norfolk, Virginia.   Covington was a Chef in many restaurants though out the area.

          He is survived by his daughter Sonja Smith of Rochester; granddaughters Shayla and Annjillet Smith; his mother, Fadie of Lyons, siblings Herbert Aikens of Baltimore, MD, Clarence Jones of Lyons, Valera Smith of Morrisville, PA, Denise Smith of Rochester, Bellinda Parker of Norfolk, VA. And Ronald Smith of Lyons; many nieces and nephews
