Donald DeWandel
Newark- Donald L. Dewandel, 91, passed away on December 28, 2024, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.
A graveside service with military honors is being planned for spring of 2025 at Newark Cemetery.
Donald was born in Newark, on November 20, 1933, the son of the late Leo and Josephine Goebert DeWandel. Don was a graduate of Newark Senior High School, Class of 1951. After high school he served in the US Army in Korea from 1951-1953. When he returned to Newark he worked for Bloomer Bros. as a pressman. For eighteen years he owned and operated the Tire Rack.
He is survived by a sister-in-law Margaret DeWandel; nephew and friend Damon DeWandel; three great nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Steven and Richard.
