Newark ---Dorothy B. Bean, 86, died Tuesday (April 23. 2013) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday (April 25th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Felix Dalimpuo will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A. M. on Friday (April 26th) at St. Michael Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Clinton, New York.

Mrs. Bean was born June 17, 1926 in Oneida, the daughter of the late Clarence and Jennie Kaiser Bartell. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church. Dorothy at one time had worked at Mohawk Container in Newark. She retired in 1982 from the Newark School District where she had worked in the cafeteria for five years.
She is survived by her children Shirley (James) Scarfia of East Palmyra, Lyle (Elaine) of Lyons, Lawrence (Patricia) of Port Gibson and Mary (Gary) DeWolf of Ontario; ten grandchildren Travis, Zachary, William, Christopher and Nichole Bean, Matthew and Jillian Scarfia, Peter, Paige and Payten DeWolf; two great grandsons Skyler Pakes and Andrew Bean; a sister Antoninette Means of Utica; several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband William in 1984.
