Newark –Ernest C. French, 67, died Thursday (June 24, 2010) at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.

            Friends may call from 5-7 PM on Monday (June 28th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St. in Newark.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday (June 29th) at the funeral home with the Rev. Christie Wareham officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. 

          Memorials, in Ernie’s name, may be made to the Serenity House, 1278 Brace Rd, Victor, New York 14564.

          Mr. French was born November 1, 1942 in Newark, the son of Charles and Edna Pollock French.   A graduate of Newark High School, he later went on to earn bachelor degrees in education and math from NYS University at Brockport.  He retired in 1997 from the Albion Correctional Facility, where he was a correctional counselor.  Ernie was a member of the Newark Elks Club and the VFW War Dads.   He loved boating, fishing and wrestling.

          He is survived by his special friend Susan Grasta of Williamson, two daughters Michele (John) Brabon of Waterport, NY and Jennifer French of Las Vegas, NV, two grandchildren John Brabon III and Joshua Brabon of Waterport,  a sister Rosella (Robert) Stuerrys of Canandaigua, a brother  Erwin French of Brooksville FL.  Ernie was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.
