Newark—Fran Linehan, 92, died Wednesday (April 27, 2016) at the DeMay Living Center.

 

Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Monday (May 2nd) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Tuesday (May 3rd) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneva at the convenience of the family.

 

Memorials, in her name, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York 14620.

 

Mrs. Linehan was born April 22, 1924 in Geneva, the daughter of the late Phillip and Lucy Perry D'Amico. At one time, she had worked for the Home Decorator's Division of C.H. Stuart and later in life worked in the cafeterias of the Newark Junior High and Senior High Schools, from which she retired. Over a span of fifty years, most of Fran's time was in raising her seven children. Fran was a communicant of St. Michael Church where she was active on a Sunday counting team. She was a long time volunteer in the gift shop at both the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and the DeMay Living Center. Fran volunteered for many years, helping at banquets and dinners at the Newark Elk's Club and was very thrilled and proud when she became a Member.

 

Fran is survived by her children, Richard (Nancy) Carlson of Waterloo, Sharon (Peter) Stockman of Geneva, Donald (Seung) Bowers of Clifton, VA., Debra (Tim Louise) Bowers of Syracuse, Douglas (Mary) Bowers of Parker, CO., David (Alica) Bowers of Crestview, FL., and Daniel Bowers of Newark; two step-children Ronald (Yolanda) Linehan of Austin, TX and Mark (Nancy) Linehan of Tallahassee, FL; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four step-gramdchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters Palma Dellefave of Seneca Falls and Mari-Lou (Charles) Smith of Geneva; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands Donald Bowers and George Linehan; her brother Donald D'Amico.
