Sodus Point/Orlando FL: Gordon Wanninger passed away peacefully at the age of 91, on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Alwyn C. Cashe State Veterans Nursing Home in Orlando, FL.

A grave side service will be held at Noon on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Newark Cemetery, N. Main St., Newark, NY.

Gordon was born on July 19, 1933, in Richmond, IN the son of Horace and Mary Katherine Youngflesh Wanninger. He served in Korea in the US Army from 1953 – 1955. He earned a Bachelor’s and an MBA in accounting from Northwestern University. For many years he worked for several large companies in Rochester as a CPA. He went back to school and graduated from Syracuse Law School. His final years of his career he had his own Law Practice in Alton, NY.

Gordon is survived by his son, Peter H. Wanninger; and a sister, Karen Stansbrey; two nephews Robert and Andrew Stansbrey. He was predeceased by his wife Damaris Goebert Wanninger in 1997.
