Helen Mirras

Helen (Boosalis) Mirras passed away peacefully at home in Newark NY on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 104 years of age.

 

She is survived by her son Dean (Kathy) Mirras, granddaughter Eleni Mirras (Troy Johnson), great granddaughter Maxine Johnson, sisters Eftyhia Kassandrinos and Jean Doukas, sisters-in-law Fifi Boosalis and Paraskevi Boosalis, special niece Mary Anagnostopoulos and many beloved nieces and nephews of 3 generations, cousins and friends in Greece and the United States. 

 

She was predeceased by her husband Nick Mirras, brothers George, Jim (Chrysafia), John (Freida) and Cosmas Boosalis and sister Toula (Costa) Branditsa, brothers in law Adonis Kassandrinos and Peter Doukas and brothers in law Peter and George (Helen) Mirras.

 

Helen was a beautiful, strong, loving, and hard working woman, a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She lived a long life through many world events, of joy and laughter as well as sorrow and hardship, and always of devoted service to family in her home village of Niata, Laconia Greece, Minneapolis MN and Newark NY.  She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her family, longtime friends and neighbors in Niata and the US, and new friends made here in her last decade of life.
