Newark ---Janet Rose Burritt, 80, died Friday (January 4, 2013) at Strong Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

            At her request there will be no calling hours or memorial service. 

            She was born January 10, 1932, the daughter of the late Michael and Nellie Gaylord Strong.   Janet was a lifelong resident of Newark and a graduate of Newark High School, the Class of 1950.  Janet was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  She had been a keypunch operator at the Commercial Building in Newark, and a long time aide at Lincoln School.

             Mrs. Burritt is survived by her husband of 61 years, William, a son Keith M. of Newark, , a grandson Myke  (Kate) Steighler of AZ, a granddaughter Jennifer Burgess of Washington D.C.; great-granddaughter Alysa House, her daughter Juleanna,  great grandsons Darius Steighler and Joey Warner their mother Heather Abbott; a son-in-law Arcadio Fequeroa; her brother Michale (Beatrice) Strong of PA many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; nieces and nephews; her lifelong friends June, Shirley, Fran, Ethel, Helen and Dorothy O.
