Kay Seymour

Kay Seymour, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Newark Manor Nursing Home.

Calling Hours will be held from 2pm to 4pm on Wednesday, October 28th at Paul Murphy and Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the New York State Veterans Cemetery – Finger lakes (Sampson).

Contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in Kay’s memory.

Kay was born June 16, 1940 in Clifton Springs, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Wiebeld. She was an Aide at the Perkins School and Kay was involved in girls outside for many years. She enjoyed scrapbooking and knitting. Kay absolutely adored Maggie, her canine companion.

Kay will be sadly missed by her children, Alicia (Joseph) Gerbig, Michelle (Randy) Slavery, and Kristin (Kenneth) Verkey; grandchildren, Nathan (Anna), Nicholas, Joey, and Jacob; great grandchildren, Wallen and Elizabeth; sister in laws, Pat Graf and Joann Bales; nieces and nephews.

Kay is predeceased by her husband, Robert Seymour; parents, Joseph and Helen Wiebeld; other family members and friends.
