Louis Bellomo
Newark -- Louis Bellomo, 74, passed away on Tuesday (January 15, 2013), after a long illness, surrounded by his family at the Newark Manor Nursing Home.
Friends may call on Friday (January 18th) from 10 AM to 12 P. M. at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, New York. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home, with burial at St. Patrick Cemetery in Victor.
Memorials, in his name, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Rochester Chapter, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York 14620.
Mr. Bellomo was born in Seneca Falls on February 28, 1938, the son of the late Peter and Assunta Cavone Bellomo. He graduated from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls, NY. and then served as a Corpsman in the US Navy. Louis worked as a mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service in Newark for 33 years, retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Newark and an honorary member of the local Knights of Columbus. Louis will be remembered as a kind person who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Louis is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Joyce, his daughter Stephanie (Tom) Walker of Liverpool and son Steven (Julie) of Victor; his grandchildren Kelly and Emily Walker; Andrew and Alexa Bellomo; along with 2 brothers Robert (Margaret) and David (Rosemary) Bellomo of Seneca Falls; a sister Claire Withers of Canandaigua and many nieces and nephews.
