Newark"Lyla M. Lawton, 76, died Sunday (July 17, 2005) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

Friends may call from 2-3 PM on Friday (July 22) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark where funeral services will follow at 3 PM. Burial will be in Smethport, Pa.

Mrs. Lawton was born on January 1, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Lawrence and Lucille Swick. For many years, she worked at the Zippo Plant in Bradford, Pa. Moving to the Newark area several years ago, she had been a senior companion at the Newark Developmental Center.

She is predeceased by her husbands Heath Kellogg and Kenneth Lawton, a sister Donna Swick, three brothers Ronald, Lamont and Roger Swick. Lyla is survived by several cousins and many friends.
