Madelyn K. Nieskes
Newark --- Madelyn K. Nieske died, on her 95th birthday, Tuesday (February 7, 2012) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M on Friday (February 10th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Father Felix Dalimpuo, will follow at 11 A.M. at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mrs. Nieskes was born on February 7, 1917 in Lyons, New York, the daughter of the late Camiel and Rose DeVulder Koekhuyt. She had worked for many years at C.H. Stuart’s Home Decorator and then for the Newark School District, retiring in 1972. A communicant of St. Michael’s Church, Madelyn loved to cook and entertain and was an avid bridge player.
She is survived by eleven nieces and nephews. Madelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Vincent, in 2010 and two sisters Mary Tange in 2002 and Carolyn Butters in 2010.
