Marion Durfee
Phelps/Newark"Marion Durfee, 92, of the Vienna Gardens Apartments in Phelps, formerly of Newark, died Wednesday (August 30, 2006) at the Clifton Springs Hospital.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday (September 1st) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Saturday (September 2nd) at the funeral home. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Mrs. Durfee was born on February 26, 1914, in Clifton Springs, the daughter of Charles and Etta Crawford Mortford. She owned and operated a photography studio in Newark for 40 years with her husband Kenneth. She was a member of the New York State Professional Photographers Association. Mrs. Durfee was a life member of the Park Presbyterian Church. She was a life member and Past Matron of the Amitie Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and a life member of the Newark Grange.
She is survived by her daughter Judith (James) Walker of Savannah, three grandchildren James Walker II, Jennifer (Ryan) Marriott and Michael Durfee, a great grandson Logan Marriott, two sisters Dorothy Boynton of Newark and Evelyn Thraves of Sodus Point, a daughter-in-law Jeanne Durfee of Walworth, two sister-in-laws Margaret Durfee of Newark and Jane Durfee of Ill. Mrs. Durfee was predeceased by her husband Kenneth in 1988, a son Marvin in 1997, two sisters Gladys Garver and Ruth Kirchhoff.
