Newark—Mary Jane Cornwell, 88. died February 26, 2015 in Ocala, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday (July 18th) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark, New York. Burial will be private at the Newark Cemetery.
Mrs Cornwell was born on March 23, 1926, in Newark, the daughter of the late David and Margaret DeSmith DeBarr. She was a 1942 graduate of Newark High School and completed cadet nurse training at Keuka College in 1947. She was a Nurse Supervisor at the Newark Development Center, retiring in 1981.
Mary Jane is survived by two sons John (Mari) Cornwell of Ocala, Florida and Jeffrey C. (Debbie) Cornwell of Cambridge, Maryland; a daughter Lisa (David) Maslyn of Penn Yan; three grandchildren Margaret and Rachel Maslyn and Benjamin Cornwell; a sister Kathy DeBarr Cornwell, a brother-in-law Robert (Gloria) Cornwell; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years Clayton W.; her brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Sally DeBarr; a sister-in-law Ruth Cornwell. Since her death brother-in-laws George A. and Paul A. Cornwell have also died.
