Newark—Mildred A. Ahern, 100, died Tuesday (August 16, 2011) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

            Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

            Memorials in her name may be made to ALS Upstate NY Chapter, 890 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.

            Mrs. Ahern was born December 18, 1910 in Shortsville, the daughter of the late Fred and Vera Nelson Warren.   She has been resident of Newark for the past twenty-five years.  For many years, Millie was a sales clerk for the Sibley’s department store in Rochester

            She is survived by two sons Charles Fessler of West Linn, OR, Norman Ahern of Los Angeles, CA, a daughter Patricia Volk of Henrietta, NY; a daughter-in-law Barbara Zimniewicz of The Villages, Fl; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  Millie was predeceased by two sons Richard and Gene Ahern; a brother Grayson Warren and a sister Thelma Varney.
