Pauline was born on May 23, 1915 the daughter of Leo and Louise DeBaere Soliman in Newark, NY. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Newark. Pauline was a loving and supportive mother. She valued education as she had given up her schooling at age14,
to be the cook and housekeeper after her mother's passing. She always regretted not having been able to finish school. Her insight and knowledge belied her lack of formal education. Family and friends were blessed with the tastes and smells of her wonderful cooking and baking abilities, be it dutch lettuce, fried chicken, cream puffs, tea rings or any of the other of the pleathura of specialities.
She had been a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens and had volunteered at their crafters boutique. She enjoyed friends, traveling, music, painting, and especially her children and grandchildren.
