Newark—Richard E. Kaufman, 70, died Thursday, (June 9, 2011) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

            Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. on Monday (June13th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.   Funeral services will follow at 4 P.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo.

            Mr. Kaufman was born June 20, 1940, in Romulus, the son of the late Floyd and Viola Conley Kaufman.  He was a graduate of Waterloo High School.  Richard had worked for many years for Sylvania Electric and the Tarr’s Dairy Farm in Waterloo.

            He is survived by his wife Barbara Dickenson Kaufman, his daughter Jackie Yonker of Ovid, step-daughter Robyn DeBryne Drake of Fl.; a sister Arlene Trickler of Seneca Falls and a brother Harold Kaufman of Canandaigua; three grandchildren Merideth Graf, Elizabeth Yonker and Hanna Drake; two great grand children Makayla Yonker and Jada Weir; special friend David Weir; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers Jake Floyd Kaufman and Donald Kaufman
