 Fairville/Newark—Russell George, 50, passed away on Wednesday (July 17, 2013) at his home in Fairville. 

​Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Friday (July 19th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, New York.  Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 A.M. on Saturday (July 20th) at St. Michael Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark.  Burial will be in Fairville Cemetery.

​Memorial gifts, in his memory, may be made to the charity of ones choice.

​Mr. George was born in Clifton Springs on June 23, 1963, the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth “Herbie” Witt George.  He lived in the Fairville area all his life and was a graduate of Newark High School in the Class of 1982.  For the past twenty-two years, Russ has worked at Thomas Electronic in Clyde.  He was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Newark and a member of the Fairville Fire Department.  He enjoyed camping, hunting and riding his motorcycle.  But most of all he loved being with his girls.

​Russell is survived by his wife of ten years Korrine; two daughters Rachel and Sara at home;  his parents Ken and Herbie of Newark; his siblings Patricia (Keith) Battle of Newark, Michael (Samantha) of Auburn, Steven, Robert (Jeanette), Kevin, Andrew and Julie (Rob) Nevelizer all of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
