Newark –Ruth L. Phillips, 85, died Saturday (October 2, 2010) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

          Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday (October 5th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday (October 6th) at the funeral home with Rev. Bryan Buttram officiating.  Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery. 

          Mrs. Phillips was born in Ogden, Illinois on October 4, 1924 the daughter of Roy and Gertrude Tudor Kinnaird.  Over the years, she had worked for Margrove Dairy, Sarah Coventry, and I.E.C. in Newark.  Ruth was a Senior Companion at the Newark Developmental Center for over 20 years, retiring when she was 81.

          She is survived by three daughters Carren (Ed) Roberts of Sawnee, OK, Vivian Plank of WA, Joyce Phillips of Newark, three sons Danny (Nancy) of Henrietta, Randy (Anna) of Germany, James (Cheryl) of Newark; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; a sister Mary Huntsman of Louisville, KY, several nieces and nephews.  Ruth was predeceased by her husband Horace in 1996, granddaughters Teresa and Jody Phillips, brothers Richard and Robert Kinnaird and a nephew George Phillip Huntsman.
