Newark/Palmyra----Stella L. Black, 81, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

Friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, Sept. 25th at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following calling hours at 1 PM. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mrs. Black was born on September 21, 1943 in Altamont, NY the daughter of the late James A. and Hellen K. LaBounty Perry. For many years she worked as a home health aide for Genesee Regional Home Care. In retirement she worked part time as a cashier at Wegmans in Newark.

Stella is survived by three daughters Mary (Fred) Stubenrode, Julie Heers, and Amy Jo Black; ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a brother Rick Perry; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Black in 2009; two brothers Joe and Al; a sister Gerri
