Newark---Suzanne S. VerStraete, 63 passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at her home in Newark.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Lyons, NY. at the convenience of the family.
Suzanne was born in Newark, on January 19, 1962, the daughter of the late Donald and Arlene Rehkugler Smith. She was a graduate of Newark Senior High School. For many years, she worked as a nursing assistant for various facilities in the area.
She is survived by her son Chris (Erika) VerStraete; a grandson Cameron; a brother Stuart (Lena) Smith of Texas, two sisters Sherry (David) Carr of Newark, Stephanie (John) Sumislawski of North Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews.
